Step into Health is a distance learning programme that runs over 13 weeks and is aimed at individuals taking the time to look at their own lifestyles and make positive changes, whilst achieving a qualification in the process

Step into Health is about you as a person; it is about providing you with the knowledge to keep you fit and healthy

Step into Health is a pro-active course that allows you to demonstrate ways in which you can become stronger both mentally and physically

Step into Health encourages you to think about what you are doing instead of just going through the motions enabling you to make decisions for yourself. It is about you discovering ways that you can make a difference as trying to create too much of a change to your life can be all-consuming and not sustainable

We have carefully considered busy lifestyles and tried to ensure that a minimum of just one hour per week of study will allow you to complete the programme

Prior to the start of the programme you will be provided with a 13 week timetable to follow which we ask you to adhere to

Please note: There is no requirement to attend Loughborough College

Step into Health allows you to take the time to look at your own lifestyle and make positive sustainable changes whilst gaining a qualification in the process

There are three modules to the course:

  • Physical Activity and Health
  • Nutrition and Healthy Eating
  • Stress Management

You have the option to complete the workbooks either online or as a paper version

The course manual and workbooks will be sent to you via Royal Mail and the online workbooks will be sent to you from your tutor

Step into Health will certainly provide you with ideas and knowledge to help you make better choices

All workbooks follow the same format ...

The first section requires you to complete some short answer questions

The second section allows you to consider your current lifestyle giving you the opportunity to make realistic and sustainable changes

All of the information you will need to answer the questions and complete the activities can be found in the course manual provided and on the website

The answers to the questions are either one word, or very short sentences. There are no essays or long paragraphs to write and definitely no tests

The support you will receive ...

Looking at some of the feedback from a survey with students from the last academic year 2021-2022

93% of students revealed that the course had an overall impact on their mental health and wellbeing

One student wrote: "I have really enjoyed the course and it has given me time to look at my own health and wellbeing in a lot more detail and understand how important it is to look after my own mental health"

Step into Health is accredited through Aim Awards; please note that once enrolled you are committed to completing it

Please note that Government funding is used for the Step into Health programme

Please be aware that there may be a chance that your work is called for External Verification and placed before a panel of examiners
