Kindergarten Registration 2023-2024

We are excited to announce that we have begun our kindergarten registration for the 2023-2024 school year at Greenfield-Central Community School Corporation. You can register your student at this link. We understand the importance of developing young learners, and our teachers cannot wait to meet the Cougar Class of 2036! Please click here for a peek inside the opportunities awaiting your kindergartener at G-C.

Inclement Weather Schedules

As the winter weather season is now upon us, we wanted to remind you that information about delays and school closings will be made available to you via Parent Square, social media, and local news stations. In the event that we experience a virtual learning day due to inclement weather and live learning is offered, your child's teacher will reach out to you with a schedule and learning plan. No live learning will happen prior to 8:30 AM. In addition, your child's teacher may provide assignments for your child to complete as well.

  • 8:30 AM: live learning begins (Reading, Math & Related Arts, as noted in schedule provided by your child's teacher)

Social Worker Corner ~ Mrs. Miller

trust-based relational intervention (TBRI)

The Weston staff and students are continuing to use life value skills and thinking about their engines. HopeAlight is extending their program training to families! Please see below if interested in this opportunity.

On March 10-11, 2023, HopeAlight is offering TBRI training to parents and caregivers. This training will be virtual in order to make it more convenient for families. Then, just like the Weston staff, attendees will have the ability to attend consultation sessions in order to ask questions, dive deeper, and experience support during their implementation.

Some feedback from previous families who have attended:

"I can't say enough good things! I was very impressed & have already recommended this training to so many people."

"We have taken TBRI training 4 times, and this was the best. The information was fantastic and easy to understand."

Community & GC Club Opportunities

Realife Steam Academy offers after-school care to students who attend both Weston and Harris Elementary schools. We are located on US 40 inside Realife Church. We currently pick up students at Weston with our activity bus and are willing to pick up at Harris as well. We are open daily from 7AM to 6PM.

Calendar and Menus

School Lunch & Breakfast Fees ~ The school meals program is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, school corporations across the country have been operating with the use of a federal waiver that allowed them to feed every child for free through the end of this school year. The use of this waiver will not be available this school year and corporations will return to the traditional eligibility requirements for free, reduced and paid meals. This means that for School Year 2022-2023, our school corporation will be charging students for breakfasts and lunches. Free & Reduced Application for Families

EZ School Pay ~ Lunch Accounts - Greenfield-Central is once again using www.ezschoolpay.com to put lunch money in your child’s lunch account (there is a small fee and you will need your child’s student number found on Powerschool). Lunch money may also be submitted by check when you come to registration. Please be sure to keep your child’s lunch account in good standing. Additionally, our cafeteria computer system does not have the capabilities to put a “block” on student lunch accounts for purchasing extra lunch items. You will want to make sure your child is on the same page as you when it comes to spending lunch account money. FYI, you can also pay textbook rental fees and iPad insurance on ezschoolpay as well! https://www.ezschoolpay.com/Login.aspx

YMCA

YMCA ~ We do offer YMCA after school care. Weston students will be bussed after school to Harris Elementary. Please visit the link below to register your student and read more information regarding the program.
