ITA Most Improved Senior Award

Agustin Tamagnone from Georgia Gwinnett College has been named the 2022 ITA Most Improved Senior.

During the 2020-21 season, Tamagnone was rarely in the Georgia Gwinnett lineup. He had a 7-0 record at the No. 6 singles position and was 7-0 in doubles play.

Fast forward to his senior year in 2022, Tamagnone started things off with a bang in the fall winning the ITA Cup and becoming the No. 1 Singles and Doubles player after the fall.

In the spring, Tamagnone only continued this dominance as he played an integral role in the GGC lineup, playing from the No. 1 doubles position and No. 3 singles positions.

Tamagnone ends his career ranked as the No. 10 ranked singles player in the nation and the No. 1 ranked doubles player in the nation.

A Letter From Head Coach Chase Hodges

Dear Agu,

When you arrived as a transfer in your junior season, you were a player that rarely saw action in our top six. Yet, you were the ultimate team player and were always there for your teammates.

As a senior, you showed the biggest improvement in your game and went from being a guy outside the lineup to the No. 1 player in singles and doubles in the NAIA!

You did this through hard work, commitment, and a positive attitude on a daily basis. Your accomplishments make me proud to have been your coach and I know you will be a huge success in life!

Congratulations on winning the Most Improved Senior award!!

Regards, Chase Hodges
