St. Peter Principal's Weekly Newsletter september 14th

Thank you to all of our students who brought flowers for Our Blessed Mother's Grotto on Thursday for Mary's Birthday!

A Note from Mrs. Sigler:

Dear St. Peter Community,

Words fail me in trying to convey how grateful my family and I are for your generosity, support, love — and most importantly — your prayers. Over the last several weeks, we have been showered with so many blessings from our priests, administration, fellow teachers and staff, parents, and students — our beautiful school community. In particular, prayers offered before the Blessed Sacrament (and on Mother Mary’s birthday!) was an incredibly touching experience. Undoubtedly, the prayers of all your precious children were delivered to heaven from the holy hands of Our Lady. What an incredible gift! It was an emotional day for my family, as our hearts overflowed with gratitude.

Finally, we are simply in awe of the many donations received from all of you. We wish we could personally thank each of you, for we know each contribution truly came from the heart. As we lift up prayers of thanksgiving to God for your kindness, we pray He will repay you — like the Good Father that He is — two hundred fold for your generosity.

Please continue to keep Michael in your prayers as he continues his battle with cancer. We have a long road ahead, but I feel blessed to know we are not alone. God is certainly with us, Our Lady isn’t far behind, and we have all of you — a school community actively supporting us with prayers and much love. I couldn’t possibly ask for more!

Many blessings, Mrs. Nila Sigler

Thank you to all of our students who wore blue shirts and accessories on Mary's Birthday to raise money for The Sigler Family! Our students attended Eucharistic Adoration in church to pray for Mrs. Nila Sigler's husband, Michael, as he continues his battle with cancer. Please join our school community as we continue to pray for him.

First grade students used their five senses to do a Radish Experiment after they read about Ettabetta’s Radish Patch. They talked about how they looked, felt, smelled, sounded and finally tasted! They were so excited to ‘taste’ a radish. Many soon discovered that radishes have a spicy flavor! It was fun to use our 5 senses to learn about radishes and bring a Superkids reading story to life!
Mrs. Sigler's Kindergarten religion classes are learning about Jesus being Our Savior and Good Shepherd.

Becoming an Altar Server by Noah Rea, 7th grader

At a recent morning assembly, Fr. Bru inspired me to become a part of the altar servers at St. Peter. There were 36 new/experienced Altar servers that gathered at a recent informational meeting. When we got to the Church we all sat down in pews and filled out a paper with some of our information on it, then we got split up into the groups of: JMC (Junior Master of the Ceremony), JMC in training, servers that have been serving for over a year, and beginners with no experience. Each of our groups were called orders and had special names. For example: The Order of our Blessed Mother (JMC’s),The Order of Saint Peter (JMC’s in Training),The Order of Saint Michael (Altar Servers with over one year of training), and lastly, the Order of Saint Francis (All of the beginners). We were split into smaller groups of 6 or 7 and went to different stations led by the JMC’s. They taught us how to help the priest by setting up the Altar or bringing the Deacon the unconsecrated body of Christ, holding the cross during the procession at the beginning of the mass, holding the candles, and even ringing the bells for when to stand up at the start of the Mass. That was my experience of becoming an altar server and if you want to become one, there will be three more practices at the beginning of each quarter.

Fr. Bru celebrated Mass at St. Paul's last week. He is pictured here with 2018 St. Peter alumni, Jonathan Kelchner and Nicholas Beaumont.
