The Historic Inventory Record collection

This collection consists of written and photographic documentation of buildings within the City of Boulder 50 years and older.

These reports include a brief historical background, architectural description, and a statement of significance for buildings and historical houses in Boulder, Colorado.

Boulder County Real Estate Appraisal Collection

This collection consists of real estate appraisals for taxation purposes on buildings in Boulder County, compiled by the Boulder County Assessor, 1929-1965.

The Boulder Buildings collection

This collection is a photographic record of houses, buildings, and other structures in Boulder. It covers from the 1870s through the 1970s.

City, County, and Mining Maps

This collection includes city plat and ownership maps, county road maps, Sanborn Insurance maps, and many other maps of Boulder and the Boulder County area. Many of these maps are digitized.

Other collections

Though the following collections are not digitized, they can prove to be very useful:

  • Our Landmark creation, alteration, and demolition records collection contain documents about the designation of houses and buildings in Boulder as historic landmarks. Included are historical and biographical notes.
  • The Historic Boulder collection contains research completed by Historic Boulder on structures in Boulder and Boulder County.
  • Our collection of Boulder City and county directories start in 1892 and continues through the present. We also have a digital collection of Indexes to the Boulder and Boulder County Directories for a reverse directory of addresses from as early as the turn of the century.
  • TheĀ Boulder Daily Camera collection primarily holds clippings, photographs, and other printed materials. Though partially cataloged, the Camera collection arranged alphabetically includes people, places, subjects, and events published in the newspaper.
  • The Boulder Genealogical Society has been this collection through the present. Census records, Obituaries, Boulder Cemetery, and local mortuary records are among the many resources to assemble a local and familial history.
