I Am From the Sunshine and Warmth By Kate Marshall

Orange County is a popular tourist destination known for its beaches, foodie spots, sunshine, and boujee housewives. But behind the traffic and sports cars, there is a humble home to families of all backgrounds. I hope to shed light on some of the real highlights that you won't see in an MTV reality show.

Fullerton - My Home

Fullerton grew in the late 1800s because of its warm climate and fertile soil. Orange trees and farms quickly sprouted, becoming the home for many farmers and traders. Many of these families that came over 100 years ago have ancestors that still reside in the city with over 140,000 people populating it.

Now, Fullerton is an artsy, family-friendly college town located in North Orange County. Constantly basking in the sunshine, the suburbs of Fullerton has given me a happy place to live.

The best part of living in Fullerton is the ability to do so much! I live 15 minutes from Disneyland, 25 minutes from Newport Beach (on a day with no traffic), 2 hours from the closest mountain, and an hour and a half from the desert. Because I had the ability to do so much so easily, this was the best place to grow up.

Although the location, weather, and opportunities are truly unbeatable, the best part of home is the people who make it. I am blessed to have a loving, supporting family and life-long friends.

My loving parents - I am so lucky to have them!

My wonderful friends from high school that are my forever friends!

My awesome boyfriend who is such an amazing support system!

My best friends since 2nd grade! I wouldn't be the person I am without them by my side.

My awesome family that supports me in everything I do and is always down to go enjoy a beach sunset!
