TigerLike By Chad floyd

TigerLike is the second of three works for drum set and percussion ensemble that were composed as part of Chad Floyd's sabbatical project for the fall of 2019 at Campbellsville University. The title pays tribute to the “Tigers” of the Clemson University Percussion Ensemble who premiered the piece in the spring of 2020 under the direction of Dr. Paul Buyer.

Although the drum set feature during the middle part of the work is notated in the sheet music, the soloist may choose to create/improvise their own part, allowing a more accessible or more challenging solo depending on the performer's ability level. The mallet sextet is comprised of bells, 2 vibes and 3 marimbas (two 4.3-octave, one 5-octave).

This ensemble competed at the TCU Percussion Festival on April 1st and received 5th place out of 16 ensembles in the Advanced High School - Small Ensemble category.
