Regular Board Meeting

At the Regular Board Meeting Wednesday, September 28, the Board received a presentation about safer schools drop off zone from a Randerson Ridge committee and an update from Human Resources on the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Framework. The Board approved and adopted several motions and plans, including:

  • The Audited Financial Statements
  • The 2021-2022 Enhancing Student Learning Report
  • The Policy Committee Work Plan for 2022-2023
  • Exempt Compensation Reporting
  • Before and After School Child Care
  • The 2021-2022 Surplus Allocation
  • The Draft Environmental Sustainability Action Plan
  • Board Governance Policies
CTC Hosts Parent Information Night

The Career and Technical Centre (CTC) and VIU invite students, parents and/or guardians to an information night on Thursday, October 6 from 6-9pm in the Main Theatre (Building 310) at Vancouver Island University (VIU).

Boost your Power Smarts

Power Smart for Schools is thrilled to welcome back the Boost your Power Smarts quiz competition starting October 4, 2022. The competition is for students in Grades 4-7. The Boost your Power Smarts has ready-to-go online activities, so classrooms can work together to learn about electricity, energy conservation and the actions we all need to protect our planet.

Body Talk Program for Teens

The Body Talk Youth Program is open to teens who are passionate about performing arts, leadership and First Nations culture. There is no cost to join the program. Weekly gatherings are directed by Ecko Aleck. There will be land-based teachings, natural ways of knowing and practicing hosting an event. Together, the Body Talk Cru produces a spring break video.
