Week 1 - Term 2b Experiments and measuring.

The water tray was a great place to be this week. The coloured water, measuring buckets and funnels were well used. The class were really pleased with measuring the different amounts and counting the cup fulls. Lots of measuring and discussion about capacity.
We were amazed that we could ‘fly’ over our houses virtually in google maps. We explained to Mr Hoot what our houses looked like and what number we lived at. We were so impressed at the app, it was lovely to see everyone talking about their streets, and where they lived in relation to one another.
Composition of numbers 9 and10. We were super excited to see how many ways we could make the numbers. Some used 2 amounts, others used 3 and 4 different amounts.
Martin and Dean using the investigation station to observe the flowers and the crystals.
Maths everywhere.
Responding to new art vocabulary, linked to texture. It was really interesting to watch the class respond with colour, techniques and different mediums. Well done.
The circus came to school. We learnt how to juggle, start to walk on a tight rope, balance hats and fish on our heads. We had brilliant fun, and are looking forward to seeing them again soon.
As part of our world book day celebrations we have swapped classes and read our favourite stories.
