Content Info For The Week
Math (Swindell, Beasley, and Meeks):
At the beginning of the week students will review for the Unit 1 Assessment. The Unit 1 Assessment is on Tuesday (10/3/22). On Wednesday, students will begin an introduction to Unit 2 focusing on square roots. Thursday and Friday, scholars will investigate the real number system.
Algebra I (Meeks):
Algebra 1 will continue working with linear functions. This week we will be calculating slope and graphing functions.
ELA (Styron and Bright):
This week scholars will review & practice uses of figurative language, finding main idea, and best test taking strategies in preparation for their 2nd SRI (reading Inventory) test this Wednesday Oct 5th.
ELA (Lee):
This week in Mrs. Lee's class, students will work on writing an original narrative based on the themes we discussed during our novel The Outsiders. We will go through the planning/organize process, get feedback during partner revisions, and discuss proper formatting for our final draft. We will also take our test over The Outsiders on Friday, October 7th.
9th Grade Lit (Lee):
This week in Mrs. Lee's class, we will take our Odyssey test. We will then review for our Unit 1 Assessment by focusing on types of irony and parallel structure. We will take our Odyssey test on Tuesday, October 4th and our Unit 1 Assessment on Friday, October 7th.
Science (Carver and Lewis):
This week in physical science scholars will explore different physical types of matter and mixtures. Scholars will have a lab this week making a lava lamp to observe mixtures and non-mixtures. Quiz on Friday.
Social Studies (MacArthur and Lewis):
This week, students will be learning about the early causes of the American Revolution, and the Declaration of Independence.
