Nebo School District and Spanish Fork High School are committed to maintaining an educational environment in which all students are treated with respect and dignity. This includes ensuring that students are not subject to Harassment or Discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or any other classification protected by law.
Looking Ahead:
- Jan 17, Martin Luther King Jr Day (no school)
- Jan 18, Term 3 Begins
Girls Golf: On January 13 there will be an information meeting for all girls interested in trying out for Girls Golf. The meeting will be at 3:15 in room B5 (Mr. Roberts room).
Concurrent Enrollment: For those students registered for a year long Concurrent Enrollment class, the last day to drop those classes is January 12th. You will receive a "W" grade on your college transcript but are still able to drop the class. Please contact Kelly Seale in room 5, in order to get information on the dropping process.
Class Changes: For those students who are still interested in making any class changes, you will need to pay the Finance Office $10 and then bring your receipt with you to the counseling center before changes can be made. The Counseling Department made every effort to let students know changes could be made before the Christmas break free of charge.
Congratulations: Congratulations to the winners of the revolutionary letter to the governor contest. These students wrote a letter to Governor Cox addressing social issues and their ideas for solutions to those problems. As winners, they get a ticket to Hamilton, transportation and a hotel stay in Salt Lake City. These six sophomores were among only 70 winners in the entire state to win. The winners are Addalice Flores, Liberty Jenkins, Brooklyn Redd, Kai Smith, Alivia VanDyke, and Sydnie Wilkinson. If you see them, congratulate them on their accomplishment.
- Detention Hours: Last year SFHS started calculating detention hours for students. For every tardy there will be 15 minutes added to students detention hours, 30 minutes for a late tardy, 60 minutes for an unexcused absence, and 90 minutes for a sluff. We are still encouraging students who are sick to stay home, but please call attendance at 801.798.4060 or email shanda.jensen@nebo.edu to excuse the absence. The detention report will be ran Friday afternoon so we encourage you to excuse your student before then. If students go above 3 hours of detention they will not be able to participate in extracurricular activities. If they are below 3 hours they do not need to serve detention. Students should serve detention with their teachers before or after school. Students can also serve detention during lunch in Mrs. Applegate's room (25).
- Please check your email weekly to get updates on your students detention hours. If you do not receive an email then your student currently has zero hours
