North Carolina State University, also known as NC State University and NCSU, was founded on March 7, 1887. It is a public school located in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The original school colors were pink and blue. Then, it changed to brown and white. These colors only lasted for one football game. The student body voted to change it to red and white.
NC State women's basketball has never won a national championship, but they have gotten to the Final Four once in 1998. They have made it to the NCAA Tournament 26 times.
NC State made it to the NCAA Women's Tournament in 2016-17, ending with a 23-9 season. Their first game was in Austin, Texas, which is 1,330 miles away from their home town of Raleigh. They played Auburn, Alabama and beat them 62-48.
Unfortunately, the team lost their second game against Austin, Texas. They lost 80-84.
