Jingi Walla - Welcome!

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land, the Arakwal people of the Bundjalung nation. We are grateful for the winding creek - Balun - and the Bangalow Palm trees, that are not just pretty but also a source of food, water and materials for the Arakwal people. We are thankful we can learn whilst we play on this land. We respect and love our Jugan - land. We treat all elders with jarima (pronounced Garima) - respect. We will take action to protect, unite and connect with Country.

library news

Hello from the library and a big thank you for participating in Book Club this year. Your purchases have given us hundreds of 'rewards' that we've used to get some new books. These purchases complement the ongoing purchasing of quality literature for our students.

The amazing Library Ministry and helpers continue to ensue our library operates efficiently - A big thank you to all the students involved.

The end of year routine in the library means borrowing and reading for as long as possible and then bringing back all loaned books by the end of Week 9. Long term overdue notes will go home this week to give everyone plenty of time to look for them. Please don't worry if you think you have returned a book, sometimes mistakes are made and we do find them on the shelf, so please let us know and we'll have another good look for them before sending out an invoice.

  • Week 7 - Normal borrowing, long term overdue notes to go home
  • Week 8 - Normal borrowing, look at home for long term overdues and bring back asap
  • Week 9 - No more borrowing, books to be returned asap. Overdue invoices to be sent out on Friday 9th December
  • Week 10 - No more borrowing - keep looking for any lost books and bring them in!

We also have a Quiet Activities Club in the library - this will continue right up until the end of term - activities include reading 🙂, mindfulness colouring in, drawing, nature weaving, puzzles and games.

All the best, and happy reading!

Sending an absence notification to school?

please don't just write "sick"!

When your child is absent from school, please advise us of the reason as soon as possible. You can do this with a simple phone call to the office, or by completing an Absentee Form in the School Stream app. If you are reporting the absence electronically, or responding to our automated SMS (which is sent out at 11am each day to parents of students who are absent without an explanation), please be sure to leave a detailed reason. If your child is unwell, please provide some further information so we don' t have to follow up with another phone call (e.g. "cold/flu", "headache", "tummy bug", etc).
