AMONG THE RANKS

After last week’s 26-7 road victory over the Mustangs of Stevenson's University, the Aggies maintained the 15th spot in the D3football.com top 25 poll. The Aggies jumped up two spots in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Coaches poll released this week coming in at #9. Entering the season, the Aggies were ranked 15th in the D3football.com preseason top 25.

2022 Defense

The best defense in the country in 2021, has allowed just 5.4 points per game through the five weeks of 2022 season ranking 5th in all of NCAA. The Aggies currently rank 2nd in division III in total defense with 154.6 yards per game allowed. The Aggies lead all of the MAC in sacks, reaching the QB 15 times, DelVal is led by Michael Nobile with five, Nobile the program record leader for sacks in a career by an Aggie, also leads the MAC in sacks halfway through the season.

2022 Offense

The Aggies are continuing their well balanced attack halfway through the season. Averaging 150.2 rushing yards per game and 159.0 passing yards per game, DelVal is led by sophomore RB, Jay White averaging nearly 84 yards per game gaining 430 rushing yards on the year which ranks 1st in the MAC. Junior QB, Louie Barrios is coming a player of the week performance last week against Stevenson, passing 12 for 17 for 190 yards and two touchdowns. Leading receiver Tahmir Barksdale had his best game of the season against the Mustangs hauling in 7 catches for 113 yards and scampered into the endzone once.

SPECIAL TEAMS:

  • Specialist Tahmir Barksdale, the junior two time all-American handles punt return duties for the Aggies. Barksdale has 16 returns for 100 yards this season as he looks to add to his program record for career touchdown returns (4). Pat Moran has been steady as the team's punter with 33.45 yards per punt and a long of 55. He has punted 20 times this year and has pinned opponents inside their own 20 five times.

HEAD COACH DUKE GRECO '03

2021 marked Greco's eighth year at the helm of his alma mater's football program. He holds an astounding 75-12 record with postseason berths each year, including five NCAA appearances, two trips to the NCAA quarterfinals, four consecutive (2017-18-19-21) Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) championships, two Centennial-MAC Bowl Series championships, and two MAC Coach of the Year honors.

Last season, Greco became the programs all-time wins leader with his 67th victory, a 31-3 win over Lycoming on homecoming weekend.

Prior to becoming head coach, Greco had an 11-year stint as assistant coach with DelVal, including eight as the assistant head coach and offensive coordinator.

GAME NOTES

  • The Aggies are 5-0 to start the season for the second year in a row, and the fourth time in the last 10 seasons.
  • DelVal is allowing just 5.4 points per game.

This is the 14th meeting all-time between the Aggies and the Warriors. DelVal leads the series 9-4. The Warriors last victory was back in 2015 in Williamsport in a tight 42-43 win.

DE, #7 Michael Nobile against the Mustangs

  • The program career sack leader led the Aggies with 1.5 sacks in the dominant victory over Stevenson.
  • 4 total tackles.
  • Ranks 10th in NCAA Division III with six total sacks this year.
  • 1st in all of NCAA in active career sacks with 42.0
  • 1st in all of NCAA active players in Tackles for Loss per game in a career with 2.39
