Johnston Community Primary School March 17th 2023

Dear Parents/Carers,

It has been another busy week in school. Attendance has improved significantly during the last few weeks and during February we were ranked 10th out of all of the Pembrokeshire Primary Schools. Thank you for your support continuing to improve attendance.

As ever, if there is anything we can do to further support your child and/or your family, please do not hesitate to get in touch. My email address is: Williamsr1688@hwbcymru.net

Have a great weekend!

Mr. Williams.

Cricket Fun

On Monday, we had a visitor from Cricket Wales who ran a thirty minute session with every class.

If your child is interesting in joining a cricket team, the following links provide information on Cricket in our local area.

All Stars Cricket provides boys and girls from 5-8 years old with 8 weeks of non-stop fun. The activity and game based programme is suitable for all skill levels, providing your child with the foundations to begin a lifelong love of physical activity and cricket, while making friends in a safe and enjoyable environment.

Dynamos Cricket provides boys and girls from 8-11 years old with 6+ sessions of non-stop fun. Each week there will be a focus on a different cricket skill to build their confidence and ability, before they take part in a 60-ball countdown cricket match.

Dynamos Cricket will help grow your child's love of the game, and will give them the opportunity to socialise and make friends in a safe environment. All the clubs have experienced teams of Activators (coaches) and will provide a warm and friendly atmosphere for the children.

Gardening Despite the Rain!

Despite the rain, pupils in gardening club have been working hard to complete our winter tree planting. On Thursday, we managed to finish our hedge, planting over one hundred trees in an hour!

Easter Egg Raffle

Tickets are for sale at the school office with Mrs. Greenish.

Chewing Gum Issue

It appears that a large amount of chewing gum is being discarded on the tarmac at the entrance to our Early Years unit. Please do not discard any used chewing gum in this area as it takes a considerable amount of time to remove.
