RACE 8.2: THE GREAT RACE OF MERCY “The Forgotten History”

🐺THE FINISH LINE🐺

Congratulations for accomplishing the first part of the final race! You must be thinking right now on what comes after.

By now, you should be able to read the minds of the creators of the Alpha. They have formulated a mélange of relevant and irrelevant information for you to dissect. A lot of the times they will distract you with discombobulated information in order to hide the answers.

You know the drill, keep on reading...

THIS RACE IS DEDICATED TO THE HUSKIES

For the last part of the Race, it’s about analyzing everything from the start until the end of the Race.

The Alpha is OUR story. The HuskieS Story.

What you have been through, they have experienced it ten-folds.

Let’s Take a trip back down memory lane FROM when IT ALL STARTED...

RACE 1: THE PACK

In October 17, 2018, after a devastating departure from our previous home, we started a new group.

Creating everything from scratch, trying to build a better home and gathering the members was the hardest that we had to do for them.

We formed our Pack - The HuskieS. Hence the word, CHOSEN.

We lost members in the past but when time and wounds healed, they eventually came home. Hence the word, OUTCAST.

RACE 2: IDITAROD

It took us time to settle down. There were a lot of obstacles and a lot of debate and confusion regarding our group’s name.

It was like the Iditarod. A long, emotional and difficult journey claiming our rights as a separate group and ignoring the negativities.

The HuskieS members earned their name as huskies. We, The HuskieS, are proud of our name and badges.

The year 2018 was very unforgettable, hence, the Billboard charts were limited starting from 2018.

RACE 3: THE DOG SLED DERBY

All of the issues and ordeals eventually subsided. People moved on to the next issue and we moved on as well.

We got closer to one another and our bond deepened. We don’t have a perfect family. We fight. We cry. We had our share of dramas. But in the end, we still love and care.

When we sing as a group, it’s for us. Not for anyone.

Like the dog sled derby, it’s about accepting the flaws, adjusting, syncing with each other and enjoying each other’s company despite our differences.

Hence, you were all given 10 days to establish a bond with one another.

RACE 4: THE MASS START

Our next chapter focused on improving our skills as singers. We were never good with group singing. It was a skill that developed throughout years.

Like the Mass Start, we had group and individual battles, a mini-competition and random group collaborations. Facing our weaknesses in order to become better was our aspiration. Hence, the battle of the genres.

Our main goal was to have fun singing together while learning from each other and that the only way is UP!

RACE 5: THE YUKON QUEST

Music is an art no matter what language it is or which country you are from. As long as there is music, it knows no boundaries.

The Yukon Quest is all about our diversity that differentiates us from one another but at the same time unites us as one. We are all dispersed in several countries with different religions, beliefs and dialects but at the end of the day, what matters most is our bond.

Hence, the international theme with progression of layers and again limited to the year 2018.

RACE 6: FUR RONDY

This is self-explanatory. The Fur Rondy was dedicated to the Ambassadors of The HuskieS.

We, the Ambassadors, had our share of ordeals which only made us stronger.

Our goal is to provide a place to call our Home.

They are the pillars, protectors, nurturers and mediators.

We are different but similar in character. Hence, the Mash-Up of the Fire and Ice Ambassadors!

RACE 7: THE TIMED START

Backtrack to last year of 2020. It was a difficult year for everyone especially with the pandemic. Because of this, we had to find ways to keep the group from falling into despair. Therefore, we had our monthly tasks and in-house competitions that helped improved our skills.

One of most difficult task was our 2nd Year Anniversary competition.

A test of speed, strength and supremacy.

The huskies were removed from all of the rooms. The only way to get back home was to work together, support each other and learn the value of sticking together despite the obstacles.

Like the Timed Start, it was a race to meet the deadline or not go home. Hence the time limit.

Fun but nerve-racking!

RACE 8.1: TOGO

Aside from telling you the story of Togo, this was to unleash your talents as an artist.

You have actually used our theme song tracks that were created by some of our huskies members.

When you listen to our radio, you will always hear “Isang Himig”. It’s all of our memories into one song composed by our own members.

THE THEME SONGS SUMMARIZES OUR STORY.

Hence, the song composition of your own story.

RACE 8.2: THE GREAT RACE OF MERCY

Our Maxim. Our Legacy.

Your Finish Line.

🐺PART TWO: THE GREAT RACE OF MERCY🐺

At the January 24 meeting of the board of health, superintendent Mark Summers of the Hammon Consolidated Gold Fields proposed a dogsled relay.

The 1925 serum run to Nome, also known as the Great Race of Mercy and The Serum Run, was a transport of diphtheria antitoxin by dog sled relay across the U.S. territory of Alaska by 20 mushers and about 150 sled dogs 674 miles in five and a half days, saving the small town of Nome.
Hence, The Great Race of Mercy was focused on awareness of their surroundings, wit and strategy. Seppala and Togo took a deathly risk by crossing the icy Norton Sound Lake. It saved them a days travel by traveling 20 miles instead of going around by 90 miles.

This race will test your perception, retentivity and talent, and how well you will apply your findings into your own musical masterpiece!

FOR YOUR SECOND PART OF THE FINAL RACE...

The main purpose is to create, discover uncharted territories in the musical world and maximizing your full potential as a singer.

Ergo, an A cappella Plus is a great way to finish the race!

Wait, so what is an A cappella Plus?

You will sing an A cappella for a specific theme plus a catch!

And here’s the catch!

You will be given four sets of trivia questions. HINT: We have repeatedly advised you to read everything thoroughly.

We asked you to pick a number. That number is your trivia question. Each trivia question is different so there will be no duplicate answers.

The trivia questions will be sent via private message by the Race Marshals and you will be given 15 minutes to answer the questions.

The Race Marshals posted the previous Race Mechanics for you to read. The answers are there.

If you don’t know the answers, write “PASS” on each line.

And one more thing...

DECIPHER THESE SYMBOLS

These are the themes for this race.

“If you don’t look all the way down, you’ll never find it. If you don’t pay attention to the highlights, you’ll never get it.”

THE RESULTS

  • Once the Race Marshals receive your answers, they will reveal the results to you.
  • Your entry will depend on how many correct answers you have acquired.
TIP: AIM FOR A PERFECT SCORE!

This is a race towards the finish line!

The first one to submit their part 2 entry and finish the race will get an additional one (1) point to their Race 8.2 average score and an additional cash prize.

DISCLAIMER: The additional one (1) point may help you with your scores but it WILL NOT guarantee you from winning the Alpha title.

YOUR ENTRIES IN Race 8.1 and 8.2 will be averaged and ranked.

GOOD LUCK! HIKE!
