Nurturing the infinite worth of every person through love, respect, perseverance, honesty and forgiveness

Message from the Head...

The first full week back and the children have continued to be focused in their learning and all of the teachers are so proud of them! The children are an absolute joy to teach and it's lovely when visiting the classes to see their love of learning and school life. My favourite parts of the day continue to be collective worship and having the opportunity to talk as one big Isham Family!

#Wake up Wednesday

National Online Safety release a weekly guide, #Wake up Wednesday and aim to cover all major social media platforms, apps and issues that children encounter online. This aims to help empower parents with the knowledge to protect their children from the dangers of the internet.

Technology changes at such a rapid pace that it can be hard to keep up with the latest trends. The resources below are an invaluable way of making sure you know as much as your children. You are the first line of defence in keeping your children safe online – our aim is to encourage and support you to become involved in this process so that they are receiving the best protection they can – you can’t eliminate the dangers but you can reduce them!

School Value: Respect

Reflection Time...

This week we have continued exploring our school value of perseverance through stories from the Bible. We looked at Nehemiah 1-7, and how the people of Israel had lived through some difficult times and this story was about a chance to return home. We learnt that it can be hard to finish a task that takes a long time, especially when others tease us but Nehemiah kept persevering and encouraged the people to keep going! We also had a fabulous visit from Rev.Denise who explored how Jesus was tested in Matthew 4:1 - 11. The key message from this story is that there are always reasons to give up on the goals we set ourselves and there can be reasons to be tempted not to stay on task. This happened to Jesus too but he knew that God wanted him to rescue the world from all that was bad, but he was tempted to use God's power to do things for himself instead. We also had a visit from Leah in the Lighthouse Trust who continued discussing and reflecting with the children what perseverance means and looks like to us.

Heavenly Father, we thank You that You are our God and Father. You alone are worthy of all our honour and praise. We give thanks for the wonderful gift of perseverance. We thank You for having selected us. You have set our feet upon the Rock of our Salvation, who is Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Collective Worship Songs

This term, during musical collective worship with Mr Hole, we have started to look at 'assembly bangers' songs to further widen the children's song knowledge base and have an opportunity to praise God and reflect through music. "I will sing with joy because of you. I will sing praise to you, Almighty God." (Psalms 9)

Songs of the week: Lord of the Dance and Give Me Oil In My Lamp
