Because we don't have to worry about food and hunting for food, we have made large medical and global economic advances. To help us invinte, to save more life's and to explore the world and not souly focus on surviving. Agriculture has given us the ability to live out a higher quality of life.
Jared Diamond blames 'agriculture' as a whole for decling health. Yes things such as processed foods and manufacturing have declined health but that's not agriculture that's large corporations such as Burger King.
There is still plenty of unprocessed and healthy foods and free range animals to choose form, these food choices are entirely up to us.
With the help of science we can grow a crop that can survive droughts and sevre weather. To be more abundant, to feeding more and more people with each new discovery like GMO's that can make foods healthier.
To make global economy 'Green', agriculture provides significant opportunities for growth and investments for stabilizing poverty and world economy.
Agriculture feeds our entire population and the poor and the rich
Not only has agriculture lead the path of poverty reduction, but it has evolved us. Making fibers for our clothing and assorted materials it also feeds live stock and fuels bio-energy which heavily contributes to the developing world.
A lot like Photosynthesis, agriculture has the same effect on use. Plants use it as a food source just as we use agriculture as a food source. Photosynthesis also delvelopes the plant and helps it grow just as agriculture has help us grow and delvelope.
