Welcome Back To HCPS 2022/2023

Wow what a week! We have been back in school for 4 days and my word how proud I am of each and every pupil across school. Walking around school you wouldn't know it was the first week back, pupils are already stuck into their learning and the buzz around school is something to be proud of.

I have had almost a week of being the Executive Headteacher of Hoyland Common Primary School and I am so excited to re-join the school! For those of you who don't know me I have been here before! I first joined the school in September 2011 as a teacher. I quickly fell in love with the school and shortly after joining, I became the Early Years Leader and Assistant Headteacher. I chose the school for my own son and the opportunities he had throughout the school were second to none! He left Hoyland in July to continue his learning journey at secondary school.

After having my little girl in 2017 I left to work for HCAT, the Trust that Hoyland sits under and then went on to lead Worsbrough Common Primary School as their Head of School. When the opportunity came up for me to re-join the team at Hoyland Common I jumped at the chance!

I believe that children should be curious about their learning. Through our engaging curriculum, we ensure that children can foster a passion for learning that will help to develop high aspirations and a lifetime of memories. I believe in ensuring that children receive a well-rounded curriculum; where individual talents can be spotted and nurtured to ensure that all children experience success and reach their full potential. I will work with the school community to help every children find their strengths and talents so that they will flourish and be challenged.

As a community, together, we will work to ensure that all our children achieve their potential, having relentlessly high expectations of ourselves and others. We will offer our children a vast range of opportunities to light the spark of their learning, giving them the skills and tools they need to take off and fly!

So I am back! I am back to lead the school towards the future! I am proud to lead the school and am excited at the plans to move the school forward and be a very important part of your children's learning journey.

I would like to use this opportunity to say please do come and talk to me when I am out and about around school, the playground and the community, I would much prefer you to have a conversation with me about anything you have worries or concerns about or even to share positive news.

Thank you

Mrs Paddock
