Minera VA School Weekly News Friday 29th April 2022/Dydd Gwener, Ebrill 29

Our School Vision
'Love Your Neighbour As Yourself' Matthew 22:39
'Love the Lord Your God' Mark 12:30

God will guide us to be:

Kind

We are kind and help others.

We respect and care for each other and are kind friends.

Safe

We 'Speak Out to Stay Safe'

Being made to feel sad, scared or worried is NOT OK. If you are worried about anything, you tell and adult you trust.

Valued

We value our children's ideas, opinions and creativity. Today, we celebrated all of the children who made it into the Golden Book this week.

We have lots of children are celebrating their birthdays during the month of May!

Happy birthday to:

  • Tomas B
  • Matilda
  • Assiyah
  • Taigh
  • Ziva
  • Noah
  • Sophia
  • Kalli
  • Eloise
Our Best

It has been lovely to see everyone back in school after the Easter Holidays. We have had a wonderful first week of learning. We are very proud of our children for trying their best and not giving up.

Football

Our girls school football team took part in The Girls Wrexham Schools 5-a-side competition at Cefn Druids FC. In fact this was the first time a girls football team has represented Minera School.

The played 6 games during the day, winning two, drawing two and losing two games. The players demonstrated a great team spirit and grew in confidence during the day.

The team:

  • Grace
  • Ellie
  • Lily
  • Layla
  • Ziva
  • Niamh
  • Isobel
  • Saran
We need your help!

The school would like to purchase a new football kit for our team. We are looking for sponsorship to help purchase a new kit. If you or you know of someone who can help, please contact school.

Departure and Arrival Times

We hope that children are looking forward to visiting Pentrellyncymer. Due to the nature of the visit, children will need to arrive in school earlier than normal on Friday and will return back to school later. On Friday, we ask that children arrive at school at 8:30 a.m. in order to leave by 8:45 a.m. Children will leave Pentre at 4:30 p.m. after a day of activities and we expect to return to school for 5:15 p.m.

Medication

If your child will need medication administered during the visit, please make sure that you have completed the medication form in the link. Any medication must be given to Mr Williams or Mrs Edmonds in the morning.

Clothing

Children will need to come to school wearing suitable clothes for active outdoor activities. Please make sure that your child has trainers, waterproof clothes and enough warm clothing appropriate for the weather. Children should NOT wear jeans as they are unsuitable for the activities. It is a good idea to bring spare clothes in a rucksack but not essential.

Packed Lunch

Children will need to bring a packed lunch and plenty of drinks for the day: a refillable bottle is best. If you would like to order a packed lunch through school, please complete the form in the link. This must be done in addition to ordering through ParentPay and by Tuesday 3rd May (the link will expire after this date and no lunch will be prepared). Please note that a school packed lunch will not include a drink.

Payment

If you have not done so already, please make your contribution of £15 towards the cost of the visit through ParentPay. In order to make the trip affordable, the school is subsidising half the cost of the visit and the Friends of Minera have kindly offered to pay for transport.

Staff

The activities will be run by experienced and trained staff from Pentrellyncmer. Mr Williams, Mrs Edmonds, Miss Davies and Miss Lauren will be accompanying the children at Pentre.
