News from the Front Office:

Dear Families:

Students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade will participate in CMAS (Colorado Measures of Academic Success) on April 3rd through April 13th. Please review the calendar attached to see specific scheduling for each grade level. Please support our testing days by ensuring your child is at school on time and please avoid early check-outs on those mornings. If students are absent during testing, they will need to make up the testing on another day which may result in missed class time.

Cellphones, smart watches and all other internet connected devices must be turned off and stored securely with teacher supervision during testing unless the student has a documented health monitoring need. Please consider not sending these devices to school with your child on testing days. If students must have these devices available before or after school, please know they will be turned off and stored during testing.

If you would like to learn more about CMAS, please visit https://www.cde.state.co.us/assessment/cmas . If you have specific questions about CMAS or our testing schedule, please email Melissa Cripe at mcripe@psdschools.org or call 970-488-7942.

We appreciate your support!

Reporting Student Absences

Parents can report their student's absences by calling the Riffenburgh Attendance Line 970-488-7936 or via ParentVUE (see instructions below)

Please let the Attendance Office know about ALL absences even if you have alerted the Classroom Teacher.

The following are important times to note:

  • 7:40 am Cafeteria opens for Breakfast (Please do not send students to school prior to 7:40 am)
  • 7:45 am Supervision on Campus Starts (If student is not eating breakfast, this is when drop off begins
  • 8:00 am Classroom Doors Open
  • 8:05 am Official Start Time, Learning for the Day Officially Begins

*If you arrive after 8:05am, please come to the front office entry to sign in your student and to choose school lunch (if wanted).

Change in Dismissal Plans

Please call the front office by 1:00 PM if there is a change during the school day and you need to communicate it to your child. Our teachers aren't always able to check email or voicemail during the day and so communicating it to the office assures that your child gets the message. We ask that you do this before 1:00pm as the end of the day gets busy in the office.

Classroom Treats

If it is necessary to have food in classrooms during school hours (i.e. birthday snack, holidays, special occasions, school events, etc.), only commercially prepared foods and packaged foods from retail stores should be served. Items must be commercially individually wrapped. As always, please contact your child's teacher prior to sending food or treats in.

Volunteering at Riffenburgh

If you plan on Volunteering at Riffenburgh, you must register or check that your status is current with Poudre School District (PSD) thru the following portal (renewals are every 3 years) before you come to school.

** Please remember to bring a Government Issued Identification (Driver’s License) (DIGITAL IDs are not accepted) to school when you check in in as a Visitor or Volunteer. This is a requirement for the Check In process. **

News from Health Office

Please send an extra set of clothes in your students' backpacks since it's muddy outside, and the health room doesn't have enough clothes to accommodate all the needs now.

FOR CURRENT 5TH GRADE FAMILIES

No Cough Drops in School: Students are not to carry cough drops in their back packs for use during the school day. If cough drops are required, there is a Medication Authorization form from the Health Room that must be completed for any medication to be given at school (prescription or over the counter). This form needs to be filled out and signed by the Health Care Provider and then signed by the Parent and returned to the health room with the cough drops in their original package. Once this process is complete, the student can come to the Health Room and the Health Room Tech will give them a cough drop. Mints/candies are an alternative for dry throats that can be carried by the student so they can use as they need.

News from Music

Hold the Date!

Happy Friday Roadrunner families!

We are having a spring concert for all 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students.

Here's what you need to know:

Tuesday. April 25th: Riffenburgh School Gym

1st grade: 5pm-5:30pm

2nd grade: 6pm-6:30pm

3rd grade: 7pm-7:30pm

Students do NOT have to stay the entire time. After their grade has performed, they may leave. If your grade does not perform until later, you do not have to show up until later. Students need to arrive in the gym 15 minutes before their performance time starts. AFTER a grade level show is over, please grab your student and clear the gym quickly unless you have another student performing in the show that immediately follows. More families will be arriving for the next shows and we would like to avoid any time delays. Students are expected to wear "nicer" clothes or Riffenburgh shirts! Think something that would be good to wear to a wedding.

Please reach out to me if you have any questions!

Thank you and happy weekend! ~ Mrs. Clark

PSD Volunteer Updates

Volunteers are needed across Poudre School District to support our teachers & students!

PSD sends frequent emails to currently registered volunteers, but those are getting lost in some recipients' junk mail folders. If you are registered as a volunteer with PSD, please check your junk mail & mark those sent by "Volunteer Coordinator" as safe to receive.

For those who are not yet registered to volunteer but want to help in our schools please visit the Poudre School District Volunteer Page:
