Introduction
Hello and welcome to my portfolio. My name is Oscar & I attend Millis High School, where I will be graduating this spring of 2023. This is where I will be uploading photos of artwork that I make in class throughout the year. Feel free to enjoy whatever artworks I upload. Thank you.
September Reflection
So far in Art class, I have done the upside down man drawing, the single hand drawing, and I am still working on the two hands drawing. Throughout these projects I have developed the skill to be proficient in my drawing while still making it look good. In my single hand drawing I learned how to properly use a tortillion to shade the hand in the right places.
October Reflection
I developed skills while learning watercolor techniques. I was able to successfully employ a few of these techniques in my watercolor project though I still need to complete it. I created semi-original art with this project. I took a photo from a photographer and am trying to recreate it using watercolors.
January/February Reflection
I was able to develop my calligraphy skills this last month, and was able to create some semi-original art with my WOW project. I was able to maintain my “technique” throughout this project and keep my pen strokes consistent, while also keeping it elegant. I think that in the final product it came out really well, though there are some things I wish I would’ve done differently during the making of my project. We also did some perspective skill building. I was able to grasp how perspective worked but I wasn’t able to create a WOW piece for it because I wasn’t able to figure out what I wanted to do.

Final Reflection
Throughout this class I have tried to create my own art, whether inspired by other pieces of art or just completely original. I was able to learn new things like embroidery, watercolors, shading, and calligraphy. My favorite of the units was probably calligraphy. I experimented a lot with my penmanship and how to do certain strokes when I was writing with it. I probably learned the most from the shading unit. Before then I didn’t really know how to shade properly or where to shade. Once I learned how, the art I made using it came out really well. My favorite piece is the calligraphy piece. I enjoyed making it and just really enjoyed the calligraphy overall.
