The highlight of this week was definitely our class trip to Bede’s World in Jarrow to find out more about the Anglo-Saxons.
We went there on Thursday and we absolutely loved it! Our guide, Cat, was seriously impressed with our knowledge of the Anglo-Saxons and she did a wonderful job of taking us to an Anglo-Saxon church, letting us handle some very old primary sources and even teaching us how to fight like Anglo-Saxon warriors.
We started off the week by looking at the written language of the Anglo Saxons, we wrote our names and some messages in runes.
We are breakups finished our work on Beowulf and next week we will have written our own versions - make sure you come back to see what we have produced.
