Cross Country
The area Cross-Country competition (Y3-6) will be held next Thursday (9th March). If your child is going, they will need:
- Warm Sports Clothing and Trainers
- Snacks
- Fluid / water
- Spare change of clothes and trainers
- Sun cream/hat/raincoat/waterproof bottoms (dependant on weather)
- Packed lunch (returning to school at 1pm)
They will be travelling by coach and payments can be made through ParentPay after the event.
Reading week / 'Read for Good' Readathon
The School Council have decided that during the week, 20th-24th March, we will be holding a sponsored reading event (Read for Good). There will also be an opportunity for pupils to come to school dressed as a character from a favourite book on the Wednesday (22nd March). Further details will be sent out next week.
Making payments for school meals and trips
Schools in Powys will be working with a new online payment provider for school meals and other items such as school trips from April 2023.
The current online payment provider is ParentPay. The new online payment provider will be Civica Pay. During March 2023, all parents and carers will receive information about how to register for a Civica Pay account and the transfer of existing balances.

Additional Non-Pupil Day
There will be a Professional Development Day on Friday 30th June 2023 for all school staff. This is an additional day of INSET that has been given to all schools for this academic year by Welsh Government. We have worked in collaboration with Welshpool High School and all primary schools in our cluster to try and limit disruption for families by choosing the same day across all schools.
There is also a non-pupil day on Friday 21st July. Therefore, the last day of the summer term is Thursday 20th July.

Parent / Teacher meetings
There are still spaces available for you to meet your child's teacher to discuss their progress. Appointments can be made for Wednesday 8th March between 3:30 and 6:30pm. Please book through the link sent to all parents on Monday 13th February.
If you are unable to meet your child's teacher on either of the dates offered, please let them know and they will endeavour to arrange a mutually convenient time
Coffee Morning & Lent Lunches @ St Michael's Church, Forden
Come along to the coffee morning at church tomorrow morning.
Lent lunches are being held in church every Thursday (Feb 23rd -Mar 30th) from 12:00. Soup & bread and a hot drink, £5. Funds raised will go towards the church and the Turkey & Syria earthquake appeal.

Forden Community Centre
Following the Forden Recreation Association AGM this week, the committee is now without a chairperson or vice chair. As such it cannot run according to its constitution. It is absolutely vital that volunteers can be found from the community to fill these vacancies. Without them, the community centre will have to close which would have enormous implications for the school.
If you would be interested, or know someone who would be willing to take on one of these roles, please speak to Mrs Fowler.
