- Dept. of English, Heramba Chandra College always believes in the joyful teaching-learning process. Therefore, the Dept. as usual tries to engage the students in various student-centric activities along with the academic exertion even in the midst of pandemic. Lecture method is not a sole method of teaching for the department. Our teachers encourage students indirectly to learn literature in different way. We motivate the students to express their understanding of the subject matter. We encourage them to participate in the extempore, storytelling, debate and writing competition organized by the dept. for the intra-departmental students. (January, 2022).
Story telling has a very interesting fact in itself. Storytelling brings language learning alive and creates a participatory and immersive experience that allows Young Learners to enjoy hearing the language in a dynamic, sometimes stylistic and entertaining way. Participation using key vocabulary and phrases can create an awareness of rhythm and structure. To keep that in mind dept. organized a story telling event on dept. students in 2022 during students' week.
