Communism in Cuba Alex, Josh, And max

But how did Cuba become communist in the first place?

Flugencio Batista was the dictator in Cuba before communism he was largely supported by the United States which nobody in Cuba liked and he lived a lavish life style compared to his people. This obviously was not popular with the people so a Marxist/Leninist lawyer from Cuba named Fidel Castro began a revolt but it was unsuccessful and Castro was imprisioned. Years later a group of about 80 men and everyday citizens prepared to initiate the guerilla rebellion and over throw the goverment. On Janurary 8th 1959 the rebels invaded Havana the capital of Cuba and successfully overthrew the Cuban dictator establishing a communist government.

Cuba now the first communist country in the Western Hemisphere got rid of rascism and improved health care although they had to rely on the Russians financially and militaristically, literacy and political freedoms were also significantly reduced.
