Introducing Story Maps. This is a mobile application that acts as a quick and easy way to share with your friends what, where, when, and why a picture was taken. The events can be shared privately or within a group of your friends, teammates, family, etc.
The idea originated from My Maps by Google. Upon researching My Maps, however, we found out that it might be shutting down, so we decided to take it a step further. We want to take our idea of Story Maps and make it into an app that acts as a form of social media. This was the first step.
Our plan is to visit a retirement community and/or an old folks home and interview them and get a snippet or a story from their lives. Then take those stories and put an audio recording or a typed version, along with a picture of them from that time or currently, on a map at the geographically correct location the event took place.
