Wow class 3, time certainly does fly when we are having fun! I am so proud of each and everyone of you for your achievements, independence and the individual qualities you have displayed throughout your time in year 1. I wish you all lots of luck for year 2 but I know you will all be amazing!
This half term we had lots of fun in our key stage 1 sports day.
Literacy
Our writing this half term has been been based on the story, ‘We’re going on a lion hunt’, we enjoyed discussing the similarities this story had with ‘we’re going on a bear hunt’. We started the topic by describing a lion, we used interesting and exciting adjectives. We used our lion description in our final piece when we retold the story but with ourselves as the characters.
We then explored the features of a non-chronological report before writing one on a lion.
Maths
This half term we have recapped previous learning to deepen our understanding or fill in any gaps that we were not confident with ready for Year 2.

We learnt how to play the glockenspiel in music this half term. We explored tempo and pitch through playing the glockenspiel. We learnt about graphic notation and created our own showing high and low notes.

RSE
We have continued exploring living in the wider world this half term. We enjoyed looking at different jobs in the community and then drawing a picture of us in our dream job.
We explored esafety through learning that not everything we read or see online is true.
