AVA TODD

This week's feature highlights Kilbourne sophomore lacrosse player Ava Todd and follows her her experience at the Class of 2024 Shake School Top 25 Showcase in January.

When asked about the process of being chosen for this honor, Ava informed us that this specific accomplishment has been months in the making. She recalled that, "It started last Summer when I started uploading videos to Instagram on my lacrosse account then I got selected to go to Pennsylvania for the Top 25 Lacrosse Showcase."

She added, "I worked all Summer to upload these videos of basically footwork and shooting."

After all her hard work she said, "We waited for the list to come out and once the list came out and we figured out I made it in the Top 25 I went to Pennsylvania with all the other girls in the Top 25."

Once at the showcase with the girls, she got to meet Shake School director Kacy Small. Being there she said, "We got to practice his drills that we'd been practicing all Summer, but we got to be in person with him and learn different concepts of the drills".

To recap her experience Ava said "It was a good opportunity to get to play with other girls across the country and experience something I've never experienced before".

Elite showcases like these not only help players improve their game, but allow them to get more exposure in front of college coaches and get their name out there.

When asked about her future goals Ava said, "I'd love to play Division 1 lacrosse when I get to college. One of my dream schools would be to be able to attend Cincinnati and play lacrosse there".

Be sure to follow Ava as she continues her lacrosse journey throughout high school, especially as the Kilbourne Girl's Lacrosse Team kicks off their season in March.
