Black Mountain Elementary School Preparing students for the global stage

Registration for the 2023-2024 Kindergarten school year will begin January 23rd. Save the date - our Kindergarten Information Night will take place on January 25th at 5:00PM in the BMES library. Please spread the word!

When students are provided opportunities for independence, they learn that we believe in them and that they are capable. When kids are provided with responsibilities, they learn that they are contributors and that they are an important member of the team.

I love sharing the growth!!!! Keep the Let Grow Challenge pictures coming!!!!

We love to see this independence!!!! Way to go, Tenley!!!!!! We are proud of you!!!!

Our Family Science Night is only a few short weeks away, running from 4:30-7:00 on February 10th. This night will be filled with presentations of student learning, fun filled science activities, animals, a hot air balloon, a dinosaur, food, fireworks, and more. Always a family favorite, this year’s event is set to be one to remember. Tell your family friends - memories are better made together.

Our school is helping to make a difference in the lives of local children this Super Bowl season. We’ve teamed up with the NFL, Arizona Cardinals, Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee, The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Center Phoenix, Valley of the Sun YMCA and Verizon for a Super Bowl community service project. This project is called Super Kids - Super Sharing.

We are collecting gently used or new:

Books

Sports Equipment

School Supplies

Games

Donated Items will be shared with local schools and organizations that work with children in consistently under-resourced communities.

You Can Help!

Bring in your new or gently used items and place them in the Super Kids-Super Sharing box.

Boxes will be located in the front office and at Car Drop off.

Can you open a juice box with one hand tied behind your back? Able to ready a Gogurt with laser precision? Have a passion for watching Gaga Ball? We need you!! No really.... those skills are highly marketable.

BMES is seeking both volunteer and paid lunch/ recess help! If interested, please reach out to Janet Kennedy at jkennedy@ccusd93.net
