HipTrips Campaign Baja California Sur Adventure, culture, and cuisine in Southern Baja.

Every Traveler Has a Story

HipTrips in Baja California Sur

A group of lucky adventure & foodie bloggers embarked on a journey through Baja like none other. By land, air, and sea; they traveled to Loreto, Mulegé, Comondú, La Purisima, Bahía Concepción, and Scorpion Bay in search of the best kayaking, surfing, fishing, historic sites, and diving while immersing themselves in the local culture and sampling fabulous, local cuisine along the way. The team documented the journey with video, photos, and travelogues and honestly, haven't stopped talking about it since.

The Itinerary

Content Delivered

The Influencer team produced a massive amount of content during the campaign including Travelogues, VLogs, and HD Images. Additionally, a film crew documented the journey with seven destination videos that include drone, gimbal, and underwater videography. Content was shared through Instagram stories, YouTube videos, TikTok, and Facebook to a massive audience of future Baja Sur travelers.

Social Amplification Results

We reached a global audience and had substantial coverage in key markets within the Southwestern USA, and Mexico. Engagement with the content was spectacular - over 6% of our target audience interacted with the content by commenting, sharing, and liking. Additionally, the social media boost increased visitation to the campaign Micro-Site by over 400% in the month that followed the campaign.

HipTraveler Platform Performance

Our Influencers create content not only for their blogs, but also for the Loreto Micro-Site. Each Influencer published 1000 word blogs to the Micro-Site describing their experience in Baja Sur. HipTraveler's platform then converts these blogs to working Itineraries, so that readers can "follow in the footsteps" of the authors by utilizing the itineraries to book their trips and the destination can track conversions from the campaign.

Destination Dashboard

The Loreto team had access to real time site analytics to track key KPIs from the campaign including visit & views to the Micro-Site, engagement from trip planners including favoriting, as well as overall CTAs for key metrics like booking.

Traffic to Baja Sur's HipTraveler Micro-Site increased by over 400% following the campaign. Visitors built itineraries, created profiles, and booked their trips to the destination.

Baja Sur's Micro-Site tracks & creates reports for all conversions to hotels and tour companies. The campaign averaged a 3.23% overall conversion (well above the industry standard of 1.5%).

She’d like to believe she’s not traditionally traveling but she just chooses to be somewhere else all the time. Trisha also loves extremely spicy food, pineapples, plants and symmetry. Nomadarte Cynthia & Gustavo

We are Cynthia and Gustavo, Mexicans, filmmakers and travelers. In 2013 we went out to tour Latin America. We traveled through 15 countries in a Volkswagen Beetle for 1,150 days, covered more than 100,000 kilometers on the road, and fell in love with the nomadic life. After returning to Mexico we decided to continue traveling by road and in 2018 we went to Alaska. We traveled the continent from the southernmost point to the north pole. We currently have 8 years traveling the world, we have been to 25 countries and we have entered each of them to learn about their culture, gastronomy and history. We like to share what we are living through photography, video, podcast and articles on our website where we tell about our entire trip and motivate more people to go out and travel the world. At this moment we are in Mexico, we want to continue showing the wonders that we have in our country and more at this time than where it will be necessary to invest all our forces in national tourism. Nomadarte reaches over 1.1m travelers a month. Follow our journey here @nomadarte

Ian Ord

From a young age, Ian Ord was always a wanderer. Even at 2 years of age, on a walk with his father, he had to lead the way and explore the world around him. At the Age of 16, Ian got his first ‘real’ taste of the world outside his home town of Guelph, Canada when he decided to hitchhike across the country with one of his colleagues. 2 1/2 months later, with what felt like a lifetime’s worth of experience, he arrived at his final destination for this journey, in the city of Victoria, British Columbia. This journey was the gateway to what later became a lifelong quest, to explore as much as the world has to offer. Having experienced visiting ALL 7 continents, studied Tourism and Travel, worked 6 years in IT as the company’s head technical trainer for a large global tour operator, and now resides as a perpetual expat and digital nomad, Ian lives and breathes travel! Living with a motto of “You only live once”, he constantly pushes his own limits, in terms of kindness, compassion, understanding, and participation with all the world has to throw at him. With the world as his oyster, and a road full of endless possibilities, you can be sure he won’t be stopping any time soon. His life mission is to inspire as many people as possible to break free from their comfort zones, and experience some of the many wonders the world has to offer. Travel continues to change his life for the better, and he wishes to share that type of experience with as many people as possible. Ian reaches over 750k travelers per month. @globe_trottah @wsetravel

Nathan Aguilera

Hi, I’m Nathan Aguilera, author of the Foodie Flashpacker blog. Nearly six years ago, I left my job at an Oklahoma City law firm and embarked on a journey around the world. At the time, I thought I would only be gone for 6 months, but the more I travelled, the longer my bucket list became. I met so many phenomenal people as I went, and it seems like everyone had a new, different recommendation for me: “if you like Spain then you’d LOVE Portugal” or “if you thought diving was good in Thailand, you would love it in the Philippines“. Even now, after more than five years of traveling, my list is longer than when I started. Nathan reaches over 500k foodie travelers per month @foodieflashpacker

Jordan Simons

My name is Jordan Simons and I'm a videographer and photographer currently travelling the world continuously! In 2014 I sold all my possessions, quit my job and began to travel the world. I found that I instantly loved travelling and wanted to make it a bigger part of my life, so I decided to document my adventures with a video blog. Since then I’ve done some amazing things and been to incredible places all over the world, all because I made an unconventional choice and started following my passion. Now I document my life with videos and photos and get to do more of the things I love! Jordan's channels reach over 17m travelers per month @thelifeofjord
