Is your little one ready for kindergarten? Join us for our Kindergarten Round-Up on Thursday, January 30th, from 5:00–6:30 PM!
This special evening will begin with a brief welcome in the Fine Arts Center, followed by an opportunity to visit classrooms and learn about all the wonderful programs we offer at BMES. You’ll meet our fantastic kindergarten teachers, hear from current BMES families, and have the chance to connect with me about what makes our school such a great place to learn and grow.
We can’t wait to meet our future kindergartners and their families!
Mark your calendars for our 14th Annual Science Night on February 7, from 5:00–7:00 PM! This exciting evening features a mix of student presentations, hands-on activities, and science-focused exhibits from amazing organizations. From space exploration to animal conservation, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
The night concludes with a spectacular up-close fireworks show - a family favorite! Food will be available, so come ready for an evening of learning, fun, and community.

Thanks to a generous donation, CCUSD is thrilled to be able to partner with SmartSocial, an online platform that helps parents understand tech and social media to keep kids safe and successful online. SmartSocial hosts live online Q&A events that address different themes each month. You can watch these events live, or watch them after the fact when it fits your schedule! With over 400 online resources at your disposal, SmartSocial can help parents navigate the challenges associated with technology, including parental controls, screen time, online safety, and more.

On December 10th, the Governing Board decided to move forward with community forums in January to gather input on potential changes to district facility usage. These discussions include the possibility of consolidating two schools, with students from those schools potentially attending BMES or other CCUSD schools. Additionally, the board is considering moving 6th grade to STMS. A final vote is scheduled for January 28th.
While BMES is not being considered for closure, there is a lot of misinformation circulating. It’s important to stay informed. I encourage you to visit the Facilities Focus Group webpage to learn more and share your feedback. This site includes FAQs, previous board presentations, and other key updates, and will continue to be updated with new information.
