Anibal and Sonia Duarte have served with CRU International and CRU Guatemala for 46 years.
Sonia joined at the age of 18. Today she leads the CRU Guatemala Women's Ministries, works with Mother Wise; Restore my Heart; Magdalene; Reflections of Hope; Significant Woman; and other resources.
Aníbal joined CRU as full-time staff at the age of 17.
They have been married for 37 years and have three children; Ana Sofía, who has a degree in Chemistry and Biology; Javier Francisco and his wife Meliza, both are doctors; they gave us our first grandaugther Elizabeth; Juan Fernando, who is an Architect; his wife Alissa is a Grafic Designer. They have been involved in ministry activities, Jesus Film mission projects, and the local church. Ana Sofia has been part of the leadership of our Campus Ministry.
Together we have served in CRU Administration for 15 years and as National Directors for 12 years. Since 2012 they have been dedicated to the City Transformation´s Project.
For many years we have distributed Illustrated Bibles in schools. We provide training to believing and non believing teachers, equipping them to teach the Bible to their students.
A project that began in Ciudad Quetzal has now been extended to 7 states, many cities and another countries. Thousands of students study the Bible.
In 2023 we trained 1,299 Directors in the use of the Illustrated Bible "The Incredible Adventure".
In Petén, in northern Guatemala, we distributed 41,500 Incredible Adventure books. Thanks to the support of the Officials, Directors and Teachers, the distribution was carried out in 10 days. At the end, the students from 949 schools receive hand by hand their book.
On the back cover The Incredible Adventure has the QR codes to scante the code, and wach the Jesus Film videos. We have designed a series of drawings for each video. Children can paint, scan the code and watch the video.
The distribution of The Incredible Adventure is accompanied by the use of the coloring book and videos from the Jesus Film.
Teamwork has been the key to the rapid expansion of The Incredible Adventure. The staff of the Ministry of Education is engaged in distributing, training, supervising and visiting schools.
Through the years we have developed a friendship with the officials of the Ministry of Education and this allows us to support them in their spiritual needs. At the same time, they open the doors for us to share the Good News with students, parents, and teachers.
