What is a Pack?

A Pack is a social group of conspecific canines. It is a hierarchy made up of an alpha, beta, gamma and omega.

Huskies are classic northern dogs and are used in sled dog racing. Each sub-type of huskies have their own traits and personalities that makes them unique among the other breeds.

They are diverse but are synced together as a Pack.

For your first race, you will be given a chance to choose your PACK - with this pack being called the CHOSEN.

THE NOBLE LABRADORS

Labrador Huskies are known to be large but gentle dogs. They are quite intelligent and social, eager to please and gentle.

THE SIBERIAN FIGHTERS

Siberian Huskies originated in Northeast Asia where they are bred by the Chukchi people for sled-pulling, guarding, and companionship. Quick and nimble-footed, Siberians are known for their powerful but seemingly effortless gait. They are active, energetic and resilient. This northern breed is friendly, fastidious, and dignified.

THE ALASKAN QUINTESSENCE

With their heritage as a hard-working sled dog, the Alaskan Huskies are intelligent, playful and easy to train with positive reinforcement techniques such as praise, play and food rewards. The Alaskan Huskies are more often seen as a working or competitive dogs.

THE COPACETIC SAMOYEDS

Samoyed huskies are highly intelligent, sociable, loyal, and good-natured but can be mischievous dogs who demand love and attention. The breed is characterized by an alert and happy expression which has earned the nicknames "Sammie smile" and "smiley dog."

THE SAKHALIN REVELERS

Known for its loyalty to its owner, the Sakhalin Huskies are affectionate with its people but not overly anxious to please them. It is a naturally alert, intelligent, and independent dog that socializes well in a family with children and other dogs.

The Akita is a bold and willful dog, naturally wary of strangers but extremely loyal to and worship their family. These awesome dogs are protective and loyal.

The packs have their specific traits that have been correlated with a specific theme for your song entry.

THE MUSHERS’ BIO-PROFILE

Each pack will have a specific number of slots available. Once the slots are taken, you will need to choose from the other packs.

Once you have chosen your pack, you will be invited inside your respective rooms and meet your Mushers where you will be guided on your entries.

🐺THE OUTCAST🐺

If you fail to choose by the deadline or if the packs are all full, you will be auto-allocated as an OUTCAST.

The outcast will NOT be invited into their respective Packs and the Mushers cannot help you until you pass Race 1.

The Race Marshals will choose your pack and song for you. You will compete with the other outcasts for your spots in order to be accepted by the Mushers and your respective Packs. Hence, your entries will be scored separately by the Race Marshals.

Once you have been CHOSEN or auto-allocated as an OUTCAST, you may begin the race!

1. THEME: It will depend on which pack you have chosen or been auto-allocated to.

2. SONG/GENRE: The CHOSEN can choose ANY released English or Filipino song that matches the theme. The OUTCAST will have an assigned song allocated by the Race Marshals.

Tagalog and the other dialects will be allowed.
Embellishments such as spoken, rap and/or an extemporized ad-lib will be allowed but DO NOT alter the entire lyrics.

3. VERSION AND KEY: Any version and key will be allowed EXCEPT A CAPELLA, PARODY, MEDLEY AND/OR MASH-UP.

Revivals will be allowed.

4. OPEN TRACK as a single-person entry.

NON-VIP: Please ask for a Race Official to open your track.
Uploading of your own track will NOT be allowed.
We can upload the track for you BUT this will take time.

5. FORMAT: Audio format only. Video format will be disqualified.

6. SOUND EFFECTS: Any sound effects from Smule may be used EXCEPT Super Harmony.

Additional sound effects and voice modifiers from the other Apps such as, but not limited to, Style Studio, Garageband, Bandlab, Music Editor, etc will NOT be allowed.
External audio mixers are NOT allowed.

7. LAYERS:

VIP - Minimum of 1 main + 2 joins to a maximum of 1 main + 4 joins.
NON-VIP- 1 Race Official + minimum of 3 joins to a maximum of 5 joins.

8. BACKGROUND VOCALS: Pre-recorded backing vocals will NOT be allowed.

9. ORIGINAL COMPOSITION, such as replacing an entire verse, chorus, bridge or whole lyrics, will NOT be allowed.

The scores and comments from the Race Judges are SUBJECTIVE i.e., this is based on their judgment on the provided criteria. The contenders may inquire about the scores and comments but please respect the opinion of the Race Judges. Kindly contact the Race Marshals for any concerns.
