Content Info For The Week
Math (Carver, Beasley, and Meeks):
Students will review solving systems by graphing and by substitution. They will quiz on Tuesday. Wednesday is the field trip. We will end the week by exploring solving systems from word problems.
Homework is due Friday!
Algebra I (Meeks):
Students will continue exploring attributes of quadratic functions. We will quiz on Tuesday and have our field trip on Wednesday. We will finish the week with transformations of quadratic functions.

Read 180 (Styron and Barker):
This week in R180 Students will complete a plot diagram for The Last Leaf and identify one of the story’s themes, identify theme and literary genres in various other works, demonstrate and use various forms of figurative language such as simile, metaphor, pun, allusion, analogy, dramatic & verbal irony as well as continue to work towards meeting individual goals set within the R180 system thru completing App segments and Independent Reading Work
ELA (MacArthur and Lee):
This week in Mr. MacArthur's class, students will finish up the last few chapters of our class novel, Hidden Figures! Students will be looking to identify examples of figurative language, as well as the authors purpose for specific chapters. Additionally, students have started the early stages of planning for their informational essay that we will write after we finish the book.
This week in Mrs. Lee's class, we will be finishing up our class novel Hidden Figures. Students will begin preparing for our in-class informational essay that we will write at the conclusion of the novel.
9th Grade Lit (Lee):
This week in Mrs. Lee's class, we will continue our study of Romeo and Juliet. We will be focusing on Shakespeare's use of language; specifically, we will examine his usage of iambic pentameter in his writing. We will also review types of figurative language and elements of poetry.
Science (Winkworth and Herndon):
This week the students complete an assessment on balanced and unbalanced forces. Then they will begin understanding Newton's Second Law of Motion. They will learn the relationship between Force, Mass, and Acceleration and how it relates to Inertia.
Social Studies (MacArthur and Collier):
Last week Mr. Collier's Georgia Studies class finished up their unit on the late 20th century Georgia. This week we begin to navigate the state constitution and branches of the state government!
Thus week in Mr. MacArthur's class, we will finish the last lesson for Georgia during the late 20th Century. Students will have a short quiz on Thursday and Friday of this week to cover the mini unit. Additionally, this week we will start our next unit over Georgia's state constitution and the branches of government.
