We respect and care for each other and are kind friends.

Safe

We have been very impressed with everyone this week for following our school rules and keeping safe.

Valued

We value our children's ideas, opinions and creativity. Today, we celebrated all of the children who made it into the Golden Book this week during our Celebration Worship.

We have lots of children are celebrating their birthdays during the month of June!

Happy birthday to:

Pentecost

This week, Pentecost was the focus of our Collective Worship. Pentecost is the festival when Christians celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit. It is celebrated on the Sunday fifty days after Easter (the name comes from the Greek pentekoste, "fiftieth"). Pentecost is regarded as the birthday of the Christian church, and the start of the church's mission to the world.

Year 6 led a special 'Pentecost' Whole School Collective Worship on Wednesday.

Our Christian Value for this half term is.......

Reading Buddies

Over the last couple of weeks, Year 5/6 children have been visiting our younger children to read stories to them. As you can see from the photographs, everyone enjoyed the experience!

Main Entrance Gate

From Monday 13th June, at dropping off and picking up times the one way system for Years 1 to 6 will no longer be in operation. Please could everyone use the main gate on the playground to enter and exit school at all times. Thank you in advance.

School Uniform

Everyone is looking really smart in their school uniform. I have noticed some children coming to school in brightly coloured trainers. Please could I remind everyone that trainers must to be plain black.

Swimming

Next Friday, our Year 3/4 children will begin a four week black of swimming lessons at Wrexham Waterworld.

They will swim on the following dates:

  • Friday 17th June
  • Friday 24th June
  • Friday 1st July
  • Friday 8th July

In order to make the visit to the pool safe and effective, we ask children comply with the following:

  • Have suitable swimwear and a towel
  • Have a bag to carry to carry kit in
  • Wear no jewellery or watches
  • Have long hair tied back or tucked into a swim cap
  • Wear a verruca sock if relevant

We hope that you will be able to prepare your child with these requests so that they can enjoy the experience of their swimming lessons.

The coach will leave at 9:05am, so please make sure that children arrive on time every Friday morning.

We ask that you make a voluntary contribution of £2 towards the cost of transport for each swimming lesson or you can pay £8 for all four weeks. All payments must be made through Parent Pay as we no longer accept cash or cheques in school. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact school.

Parent Questionnaire

Thank you to everyone who has completed the questionnaire so far. The questionnaire is open for a few more days.

As a parent/carer of a child at Minera VA School, we value your opinion. If you can spare 5 minutes, please could you complete this online questionnaire. We hope that the feedback you give us will help us to improve upon the service we give you.
