Fifth Disease Contagious viral infection

Fifth Disease is a mildly to moderately contagious viral infection common among school-age children, particularly in the winter and spring.

Fifth disease got its name when it appeared fifth on a list for disease causing rashes in children. It is rare for average and older men and women to catch fifth disease. It is commonly spread through coughing or contact with infected blood. The disease can not be treated, and a patient must simply wait two to three weeks for the disease to be fought off from the body.
