DAY ONE

The Boston College women's soccer team finally returned to the pitch on Tuesday for the first official practice of the 2019 season. The 26-player squad - made up of 15 returners and 11 newcomers - kicked things off in the morning with fitness testing in Alumni Stadium.

The team took on the testing in two groups, with each group - and each player - motivating the testing group along the way.

The team had some surprise visitors stop by practice, as William V. Campbell Director of Athletics Martin Jarmond and his daughter took in some of the testing.

In the afternoon, the team took to the pitch. After warming up, the field players worked with head coach Jason Lowe and assistant coach Rachel Moreland on one side of the field, working on passing before progressing into 1-v-1s.

"Every pass is important."

Meanwhile, the goalkeeping quartet of Maddie Murphy, Alexia Lema, Allie Augur and Mackenzie Egan worked with assistant coach Jami Kranich on the other end of the field.

The team then came back together to work on combining into the box, with Coach Lowe stressing the importance of working hard at both the offensive and defensive side of a 1-v-1.
