Lone Mountain Families,
Welcome to another week of fun and learning here at Lone Mountain. This week we join our local high school, Cactus Shadows, in a spirit week leading up to the Homecoming game Friday night and LMES Trunk or Treat Saturday evening from 4-7 PM. Please join us for all of the fun that is happening this week and weekend.
If you have not done so already, please complete your student's annual updates. We are getting closer but we still have 175 LMES families who have not done this update in PowerSchool. This information is important to our site as it informs our staff of emergency contacts, updated parent numbers, transportation, health conditions, and many other necessary safety items. If you need help completing this update please contact our front office so that we can assist you with codes, tech support, and even a computer to complete this necessary paperwork. Thank you for your help in getting this task done.
There are a lot of wonderful events coming up in October and November so please make sure to mark your calendars. I wish you all a wonderful week and if there is anything that I may do for you or your child please do not hesitate to contact me.

"SOAR" EXPECTATIONS AT LONE MOUNTAIN
This year we continue with our positive behavior interventions and "SOAR" expectations for students to follow in the classroom and around campus. The acronym SOAR stands for Safety, Ownership for your actions/words, Attitude, and Respect. These are character traits that we talk about daily within the classrooms and around campus. When these specific traits are shown staff members can give each student a SOAR card that they label with their name and then drop into a raffle for a monthly prize drawing.
Congratulations to these amazing students for "SOAR"ing in the month of September as their SOAR cards were drawn last week.

NATIONAL SCHOOL BUS SAFETY WEEK- 10/17/22-10/21/22
National School Bus Safety Week is an opportunity to educate students, parents, and the public about the importance of school bus safety. It is also a great time to thank our CCUSD bus drivers for all that they do to make sure that our students get to and from school safely. Please consider having your child make a card or simply say thank you to our bus drivers this week as we celebrate these drivers and their commitment to education.

HOMECOMING SPIRIT WEEK- 10/17-10/21
This week is Homecoming week for our Falcons at Cactus Shadows. As we join them in their spirit week leading up to the big football game on Friday, please consider participating in our LMES dress up days that mirror some of the spirit days at the high school. Go CSHS Falcons! Go LMES Eagles!
- Monday- PJ Day- Wear your pajamas to school
- Tuesday- Twin Day- Dress alike with a friend
- Wednesday- Spooky Socks- Wear a pair of Halloween/ Fall socks
- Thursday- Hat/ Headdress Day- Wear your favorite hat of any style
- Friday- Color Wars-
- PALS/ Pre-K/ K- wear the color purple
- Grades 1/2- wear the color green
- Grades 3/4- wear the color orange
- Grades 5/6- wear the color white
TRUNK OR TREAT- THIS WEEKEND 10/22/22
Trunk-or-Treat is this weekend- October 22nd from 4PM- 7 PM. This year we'll also be selling a limited number of trunk spaces if you'd like to join in the fun of decorating your own trunk for the event. It's first come, first served so don't wait to grab a space!

NEWS AROUND THE DISTRICT
CCUSD is offering some wonderful Parent Academy classes for our parents. The best part about these is that they are all ZOOM offerings. This means, you can participate in these 1-hour classes and be at home cooking dinner, or in your car driving your child to practice, etc... We hope you are able to join us.
