Farmers struggled but after 1929 life became harder in the cities with stock market crash. Most people were learning to go without new items and stuck with the old so many businesses were going under. Many people couldn't pay there rent and barely had enough to survive. Some young men jumped on trains and searched for any job they could get.

People on the farms didn't have heat, light, or indoor bathrooms like the people in the city. They raised most of their own food and that is how they survived through the 1930s.

The minorities were treated very poorly and some resturuants wouldn't even feed other races. They were basically on there own without the help of the farmers or places to get goods.

The Great Depression challenged American families in major ways, placing great economic, social, and psychological strains and demands upon families and their members. Millions of families lost their savings as numerous banks collapsed in the early 1930s.

Eventhough the 30s was a time of great hardship the people still found ways to have fun. Everything they did to have fun was homemade the food, the games, and everyone helped out to join.
