School life

This week some of Year 4 represented school in a Sports Partnership Tennis Tournament. Well done to the Team as they came 2nd and are through to the Tees Valley Finals on the 15th Feb.

This week Reception have been finding out about Chinese New Year. The Children have enjoyed making lucky money envelopes and their own dancing dragons and have also enjoyed trying to eat with chop sticks. We have been talking about China and the children have been really interested in the Winter Olympics that are taking place in China this year.

Year 3 had an exciting afternoon this Friday as the enjoyed cooking outside as part of their topic work. From prepping the food to cooking it, and most importantly, eating it!

NSPCC Number day

It was great to see some amazing math's work around school today, as well as children dressed in/as numbers.

You can still donate here: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Galley-Hill-NumberDay

So far we have raised:

nursery

At Galley Hill Primary School, we offer high quality Early Years provision within our nursery unit. The nursery has space for 39 children aged 3 to 4 years old for a morning session and another 39 children for an afternoon session.

Parents/carers can access both their Universal 15 hours funding or 30 Hours Extended Entitlement per week for 38 weeks per year during term time.

Parents wishing to access this Extended funding must meet the criteria and apply on line through the digital childcare service (https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/) .

HMRC is responsible for checking whether a parent is eligible and issuing an eligibility code. Once you receive your 11 digit eligibility code you must bring this along with your National Insurance number to the school office. Parents will be required to sign a parent/school contract stating when and where children are accessing their 15 hours or 30 hours’ free entitlement. Children attending the Nursery for 30 hours will be allocated these hours. This will be done on a first come, first served basis, with a waiting list then being generated.

Regulations prescribe that children become eligible for free 15 hours early years provision on the dates set out below:

Additional sessions are subject to availability.

Additional sessions and charges will be added to the parent/ school contract.

Additional sessions must be booked Termly and paid for monthly via Parentmail or childcare vouchers.

If you have any old toy figures that are sat around at home not being used any more and you don't know what to do with them, we will take them off your hands. We are looking to expand our Small World area - so anything like toy car garages, cars, figures would be greatly appreciated.
