Week 4 - Term 2a Once upon a time……..

Inspired by traditional tales, we have used the outdoor area to recreate the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. Puppets, garden and obstacle courses all provided great inspiration.
This week we have read a few stories about animals and balancing. We thought it was funny when the mouse made the boat tip over. We investigated with different farm animal to see which ones had were heavier and lighter. We also made our own scales and started to reason how we could balance different objects. Lots of use and applying our knowledge.
Phonics is amazing at the moment, the class are really inspired to become independent writers. A text message was also sent to Goldilocks to reassure her that we could be her friends and that we were worried about her.
More maths in the environment. We used the planks to make large scales. We used a lot of the mathematical vocabulary that we learnt earlier in the week. We were surprised by how mY different combinations of people could weigh the same.
Text messages in response to Princess Pearl. The class are really engaged in helping the different characters in the stories we have been reading.
