It all happened so fast. One moment, the classroom was seated, and the next, everything exploded into chaos. Friday, March 25, 2022 marked the day of the creation of a hero. Chemistry teacher Sarah Prestwood had this to say about why she had designed the experiment in the first place.

“I have long been worried for the security of Pinewood’s campus, with students getting rowdy in the halls,” Prestwood said. “I had always wanted to make my own experiment to help create a superhero who could solve these issues. Someone who could just make these students silent.”

It turns out that the experiment to make a superhero to help out in the classroom happened much sooner than she thought it would. During a recent all class day, the chemicals monoduotriofluoride and Ice-9 she had set aside for the reaction spilled out onto the floor and began sizzling.

“It was like a portal had been opened up,” Prestwood said. “No one could see anything from all the steam.”

No one knows who was afflicted by the chemicals and became a superhero, especially since the superhero has disappeared since, although rumors began spreading quickly through Pinewood. Chemistry student Alexander Randall had his own theory.

“Obviously it's Cate,” Randall said. “She has always looked like a superhero, like her face and stuff. She has also been absent since last week.”

Philosopher and chemistry student Joey Makower has his worries about the experiment.

“It's not about who is the superhero, but why is the superhero,” Makower said. “It’s important that they have the proper responsibilities to take care of a classroom.”

“The superhero was designed to have the ability to make students quiet,” Prestwood said. “They also would have the power to make my students concentrate.”

Nowadays, the classroom is abandoned, and yellow caution tape has been put around the area of infection. Many students wonder where the superhero is.

“I think that whoever they are lives in the wall, because I believe I have heard strange noises coming from there.” Randall said.

Los Altos Police are currently investigating the location of the disappeared superhero.

“I hope that whoever has gained these new powers uses them for good,” Prestwood said.
