Recap of Events

AIAA 3rd General Meeting

Let’s give a round of applause to our guest speaker, Katie from Cimarron, for an amazing presentation.

Katie informed the audience about the process and experience of professionals in defense and space manufacturing.

AIAA members also learned about the variety of opportunities Cimarron has to offer.

Scout Rocket Day

The AIAA-UH officers met up with Big Cypress District Boy Scouts to help launch miniature rockets and showcase some of our own projects.

Thank you for enriching the minds of our future aerospace engineers!

Space City Rocketry Preliminary Design Review (PDR)

The Space City Rocketry team hosted their yearly PDR in order to receive feedback from their peers, professors, and alumni in regards to their mission of having their commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) rocket, Shasta VI, reach an apogee of 30,000 feet.

In this picture you will see the Payload sub-team leads, Isabel Ngiraidong and Kevin Tran.

Brandon Broadway informing the audience on the plans Structures has for this academic year.

The Propulsion leads, Scott Viola and Parsa Tari, give a brief overview of the motor being used in Shasta VI.

The audience had a lot of great questions and valuable feedback. We even had teams from different states attend the Space City Rocketry Preliminary Design Review!

The Space City Rocketry team received a donation from a special alumni following the success of this event. Thank you for showing up! The Space City Rocketry team is grateful for all of the constructive feedback.

Boeing Info Session

The AIAA President, Hailey Stafford, reached out to a couple of the AIAA-UH alumni who are now working at Boeing.

This exclusive AIAA event gave members the opportunity to meet with alumni who now work in the aerospace industry.

The speakers for the Boeing Info Session even sat down and helped us fix our resumes.

Thank you for attending! We hope you continue to support our efforts in showcasing the Space City UAV team.

Halloween Social - For the month of October, we celebrated with an AIAA social for all of our members. The AIAA officers and members alike joined for a spooky night of haunted trails. The night ended off with a fun trip to Denny’s!

This newsletter was made possible by our sponsors:

Thank you for coming out to the AIAA social this past weekend. We hope you all have a lovely Halloween tonight. The AIAA-UH officer team will be hosting more socials this upcoming month, so we ask that you keep your eyes peeled out for those announcements. — AIAA UH Officers
