Natural Formations Sean Neaville

In nature, nothing is perfect and everything is perfect. Trees can be contorted, bent in weird ways, and they’re still beautiful. –Alice Walker

Hey friends my name is Sean Neaville and I'm currently a student at West Virginia University, and this is my photo narrative that I've built up over the semester. I chose to document natures natural formations through out Morgantown WV, which honestly was such an amazing experience. When I first started this project I really had to think out side the box because everyone does nature photos and I needed to go above and beyond with this. I obtained inspiration from these two photographers Cath Simard, to which she caught nature in it's most natural and raw beauty. Then the other was Russ Burden, in which he captured the natural formations in some of the most exotic locations. What really captured me was the repetition of patterns, spirals, texture and lines of plant life to which I focused on the detail of the life itself to really show the detail with the visuals. I not only documented these formations, but I captured the detail with the textures, lines, patterns and more. My original goal was to document these natural formation but as I looked through these images I noticed something, in which I was telling a story of life from winter to spring. As a life came to an end a new one was born.

here is a little video that I documented of some areas with my point of view of how it went with me narrowing down onto the visual detail.
