What are Learning Logs

Learning logs are journals, notebooks, or any papers where students record information they are learning. They are writing questions, summaries, and reflections about their learning.

Why use learning logs

Learning Logs are a great tool for students learning. It helps students to explore new ideas and personalize their learning. In the learning logs, the children record their responses to learning challenges set by their teachers. It also helps teachers monitor students understanding. As Teachers read students journals they see if a students has confusions about something or misconception about anything that has been covered.

When are they used

Learning logs can be used for every grade level and in all subject areas, but they are mostly used for science and math.

How to use a learning log

Students either write new informations in their journals, notebook, or templates provided by the teacher. In higher grade levels students take notes on paper.
