In maths this week we have been using vertical addition and subtraction with 4, 5 and 6 digit numbers and tricky columns.

We continued reading our text, ‘Once Upon a Wish.’ The children enjoy reading the text on their own.

It was great to see Krystal in the Hot Seat as one of the characters and Kieran asking some sensible questions.
Kaiden is working well at his own work station with his visual timetable. It was great to see his thumbs up sign. He likes to use his word book and visual prompts from the text.
We welcomed a new boy in Year 6 from Iraq. Miruna has been fantastic in helping him settle in.
In spellings this week we have been looking at words with the split diagraph a-e.
Some children have been gardening. Next week we hope to plant some flowers.
We have a fantastic sensory tent in place with sensory activities inside. Kaiden and Delaney have enjoyed spending calm time inside after concentrating hard on their work tasks.
Our Star of the Week was Delaney for working hard on all the tasks this week. We have seen her confidence grow and develop when she is working in a small group with an adult.
