DECA ROCKS! IHS Business students compete at deca regionals

Over 80 Business students from Irondequoit High School competed in the 2021 DECA Regional Competition on December 16th at RIT. The event required students to choose an area of business to compete in and take a 100-question multiple choice test and present a solution to a role-play situation. Students presented to judges who are business professionals volunteering to make the event an amazing experience.

Thanks to a generous sponsorship from the Saunders Business School at RIT to use the Gordon Field House schools from Brighton, Penfield, Irondequoit, Sutherland, Mendon, Aquinas, Spencerport, Rush-Henrietta, LeRoy, Greece Athena, Greece Olympia, Canandaigua, Batavia-Notre Dame, and Victor all participated and benefited from the experience.

DECA (www.deca.org) enhances the preparation for college and careers by providing co-curricular programs that integrate into classroom instruction, applying learning in the context of business, connecting to business and the community, and promoting competition.
