The Neolithic Revolution By: Amy Bidwill
The end of the ice age was followed by what is called the Neolithic Revolution. Humans would move from place to place to find plants. During the Neolithic Age, humans began planting crops, providing a regular food source. To the people, animals were the source of meet, milk, and wool. An agriculture revolution was caused by growing crops and taming food.
The growth of crops created more permanent settlements which were called Neolithuc Farming Villigaes. These villages were spreading all around in different parts of the world. This created a very steady food supply. When not all villagers needed to farm specialization of labor began. Then, some became artsisans to to trade goods with the neighbors to be bartered, not sold.
The Neolithic agriculture revolution caused very big changes that's affected how people were currently living. People began to realize, as the started to settle in the villages, that they needed walls for protection and storehouses for goods. Trading was encourage because of the storing surplus. It also ecoureged craft makers which led to th division of labor. As these artisans reached a higher skill level, more tools were created such as flint blades, stckles and hoes.Because of these changes, women and men related to one another.
The new developments began to affect some towns. The crafts people discovered new metals. The use of iron tools and weapons became common in an era known as the Iron Age.
When humans settled in permanent villages, their cultures became more complex. Culture is a way of life. As time went on more cultures developed into new forms of human society called civilization. The first civilizations developed in river valleys. Important religious developments also characterized the new urban civilizations. A new social structure based on economic power also arose.
