Forest Shefa Encounter Nature everyday

Winter is deeply entrenched in the forest. The paths are snow covered. Patches of ice cling to the trees. A lichen, the hardiest of organisms holds on without a flinch, entwining and embracing the challenge, being enveloped by it.

Fungi gamble with their fruiting bodies boldly venturing into the cold days and freezing at nights, successful nonetheless. The work of decomposition and nutrient recycling is a year round endeavor. The streams run with each passing snow melt, triggering the earliest of spring's mushroom bounty.
